Flat Twist Out first attempt!

Heyy guys!
Happy new year! Is it too late to say that now? Nonetheless, hope you've had a good few weeks of January.
In December I decided to finally attempt a flat twist out. I really don't know why I left it so long! I have to say I'm quite happy with my first attempt.

I began flat twisting my hair after washing and conditioning it. I used what I like to call my 'killer combo' of Shea Moisture's Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Raw Shea Butter to seal. This always leaves my hair feeling super soft and moisturised. I decided on a side part and so flat twisted horizontally each side of the part. Now, I had intended on flat twisting my whole head but as it was rather late in the day I ended up just doing three flat twist either side of my parting, two going back either side, and I just twisted the remainder of my hair (as you can sort of see in the first picture).
When I was finished I wrapped my hair and went to bed. In the morning I took out the twists, with a little bit of Shea Butter on my fingertips to reduce frizz, and separated a few of the twists.
I think the single twists definitely produced a lot more definition than the flat twists. My tip for next time would be to fight through the laziness tiredness and finish my whole head, sticking to one method to achieve the right amount of definition throughout. I mean, it's not a BIG deal, but I'm secretly a bit of a perfectionist.

As always, taking pictures has helped a lot. I know I've previously moaned and worried about my uneven hair but after doing this style I actually quite like the shape of my hair now. My hair is obviously growing in that V shape which is very reminiscent of my relaxed hair days. Boy, that feels like a while ago!

Feel free the share your flat twist out tips! I'd love to know your methods.
Take Care.
